Why Mentoring Matters - Become a Coach in San Francisco

In 2025, the importance of youth afterschool programs like Girls on the Run Bay Area (GOTRBA) is more pronounced than ever. These programs not only foster physical health but also support social, emotional, cognitive, and academic development, providing a safe and supportive environment for our youth.

Mentorship within these programs plays a pivotal role in shaping future leaders. By investing time and guidance, mentors help young individuals build confidence, develop essential life skills, and realize their full potential. Serving as a mentor offers personal rewards, including the joy of contributing to a young person's growth and the opportunity to gain fresh perspectives.

Currently, GOTRBA is seeking dedicated coaches in San Francisco County for the upcoming Spring 2025 season. Coaches are trained volunteers who lead teams through a season of engaging lessons, promoting both fun and learning. You don't need to be a runner; just a desire to support and encourage the next generation is essential. The commitment involves attending practices once or twice a week, with each session lasting 1.5 to 2 hours, over an 8-week season.

By becoming a coach, you can make a lasting impact on the lives of young girls in your community, guiding them towards a brighter and more empowered future. Join us in this rewarding journey and help shape tomorrow's leaders today.
